Cumbria - Day 4 (Fri 10th July 2009)

Leave Comment
On Friday I visited Lancaster to take a look around, a few pics from Lancaster...
Lancaster Castle, which, to my understanding, is used as a Crown Court as well as for tours? Well that might explain the vast amount of CCTV cameras and barbed wires lining the turrets!

Cumbria - Day 2 (Wed 8th July 2009)

Today we drove some distance from the southern Lakes peninsula (where we were staying in a caravan) to Keswick in the northern half of the Lakes.

The journey offered some really good views of the Cumbrian mountain range and also of the various lakes.

These photos were taken at various places along this stretch of road.

Hi all,
I’ve decided to break my holiday report down into blogs for separate days, mainly because there are so many photos to process and there is a limit to how many photos you can have in each blog.
My aim is to publish a day’s worth of photos/report each day this week, if I have enough time that is.

A series of cold fronts swept southeastwards on Sunday (26th), clearing the southeast by evening. This left a much clearer, but cooler northwesterly airflow, bringing an unstable polar maritime airmass.
