    Hi all

I have noticed a problem with my weather station during this last 24hrs (Watson W-8681)
The anemometer seems to have stopped working, but at times decides to start again for a short while.
Attached below is a screenshot of wind speeds recorded, and as you can see it does work, it worked for about an hour from 7:30 this morning.

All other parts of the station are working and recording properly, but when the anemometer is not recording it is still spinning around.
My station is a solar powered one so if that was faulty i would expect other things to record wrong also but they are not.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

BTW it is working again now, but how long for?

I always find that a good old 're-boot' works wonders.

Corrosion on the RJ11 connectors, both at the wind vane and transmitter, can cause problems. A little solvent on a cotton bud works wonders! I've recently changed the bearing in the anemometer as mine was 'sticking' though this is obviously not your problem.

Assuming that it is NOT an accurate record - the problem does seem to be electrical / firmware.
Wind direction is only showing when there is wind (as it should ;) ), but of course these are two different sensors.
