After a short trip out of my village today past the nearest petrol station i was literally horrified to see that petrol was now 132.7p and diesel was 142.9p

It seems it wont be long before it comes close to 150p :nono:

So perhaps we need to start a fuel price watch here for the nearest stations to us, and it would be useful to see the differences between each region.

So start posting your local fuel prices here with location and date:

    Frampton-on-Severn, Gloucestershire 30/10/11: petrol 132.7p diesel 142.9p

I managed to get some petrol about 2 weeks ago for 129.9p in Norwich, was quite shocked at how cheap it was in comparison to all the other stations. That was at the Thickthorn Total petrol station, be interesting to note if it is always cheaper here compared to nearby ones...

Currently our nearest non supermarket station is charging 133.9p for petrol but it has been as high as 139.9p. :icon_eek: I try not to buy at supermarkets and our nearest one is generally only 1p cheaper but I understand from an ex petrol delivery driver that supermarket juice is lacking some additives.

The government should scrap a planned increase in fuel duty to help "hard-working, vulnerable Britons", a Conservative MP has said.

Robert Halfon said the government must show it is one "that cuts taxes for millions of British people and not just for millionaires".

The price of unleaded petrol at our local petrol station near Barham, Canterbury, is unchanged at £1:33.9p a litre since the beginning of November but I've noticed that heating oil has increased from 54.7p a litre to over 61p and the government has reduced the pensioners winter fuel allowance from £250 to £200!! :icon_evil

All very sneaky I find. :(

Hopefully if we do end up with a milder winter it will serve those Gas companies right for thinking they can keep on raising the prices. They really dont care about the average householder and pretty much rob us but a mild winter will earn them much less money. Good!

Not being a motorist, I rarely notice the price of fuel.
Unfortunately for the motorists, the taxation on motor fuel has become a "Milch Cow" for the Government.
It has become a relatively easy source of income and it will be difficult to reduce the taxation significantly.
Given the fact that the Government has a massive deficit, if tax on fuel were to be reduced, then other taxes would have
to be increased, or expenditure reduced even further.
If we weren't giving £10 billion away as overseas aid every year, we might be able to reduce the tax and stimulate the economy a bit.

Grimsby (Lincolnshire) Asda £1.28 petrol i think £1.36 for diesel, Tesco although a peny dearer but if your a shopper you get a voucher that gives 5p per liter off so works out at £1.24 for petrol.

Hi Bogget, thanks for your update there. :)

I think prices have been pretty stable recently (around here anyway) but nevertheless still very high and not what the motorist deserves.
