Washington DC in the USA had a big snowfall at the end of October 2011 as in this post: http://www.metserv.info/threads/early-snow-hits-washington-dc.49009/ We didn't get affected by this. It doesn't happen very often, the last few snowy winters of ours mostly came from the opposite direction to the USA.
